捨てようとした時・捨てられそうな時にふと、なんか使えそう...

と思った時、少し踏み込んでみて実際に使ってみる。

野菜の皮を剥いた手が止まる、スイカの皮を捨ててしまって後悔、

ファストフードの紙袋やトレーに敷いてある紙、畑ではネギが食べきれないくらい育っていて、友人の庭は剪定中。
思わぬ何かができる発見やできない発見、気づいてしまったら

あれもこれも、何から手をつけようか。

Sometimes, just as I’m about to throw something away—or when it’s about to be thrown away—I suddenly think, Maybe I could use this…
So I take it a little further and actually try using it.

My hand stops as I peel the skin off a vegetable.
I regret throwing away the watermelon rind.
There are paper bags from fast-food restaurants, and the sheets of paper laid out on trays.
In the garden, the green onions have grown far more than we could ever eat, and a friend is pruning the trees in their garden.

Sometimes I discover something unexpected that can be made from these things, and sometimes I discover that it simply doesn’t work.

But once you start noticing, you can’t stop.
This, that, and the other thing…
Where should I even begin?
